Parkinson's Information Sessions

Learn the basics about Parkinson's and how it affects speech, swallowing, and cognition.

Parkinson Voice Project’s speech therapy program begins with patients and families attending a Parkinson’s Information Session. In order to make significant gains in speech therapy, it is essential to first understand basic information about Parkinson’s and how speech and swallowing can be affected. This educational session explains the basis of the SPEAK OUT!® and LOUD Crowd® program and describes how and why using intention improves motor movements, such as talking, walking, and writing. Anyone in the community is invited to attend a Parkinson’s Information Session.
