Attending a SPEAK OUT!® & LOUD Crowd® Workshop at Parkinson Voice Project is a unique experience. This nonprofit speech therapy clinic is the only one of its kind in the world and is solely dedicated to helping people with Parkinson’s regain and maintain their speech and swallowing.

The workshop describes the rationale and research evidence behind the SPEAK OUT!® and The LOUD Crowd® program, and instruction on the specific exercises, documentation, and marketing is provided.

An advantage to completing this course at Parkinson Voice Project (versus online) is that the workshop includes hands-on training with people with Parkinson’s (The LOUD Crowd®) and a heartfelt performance by The Intentional Singers (a choir made up of LOUD Crowd® members).

Every SLP or graduate student who completes the course (either in-person or online) will receive a SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Kit that contains the supplies needed to implement the program (e.g. SPEAK OUT!® Workbook; digital timer; photo, word, and conversational cards, etc). In addition, Parkinson Voice Project will provide a free SPEAK OUT!® Workbook to every person with Parkinson’s who is being treated by a SPEAK OUT!® Provider (international shipping fees apply).

For added support, Parkinson Voice Project provides online clinical resources for SPEAK OUT!® Providers (e.g. training videos, modifiable treatment forms, etc) and also hosts a “SPEAK OUT!® Providers Facebook Group” where SLPs can ask questions, share therapy ideas, and celebrate their successes.
