Alyssa grew up in Australia, Canada, and Texas. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she previously earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and in Psychology. Alyssa’s passion for working with individuals with Parkinson’s disease began during her undergraduate studies, when she was introduced to research and clinical practices focused on motor speech disorders. Learning how targeted therapy can help preserve and restore communication for those with Parkinson’s deeply resonated with her. In Summer 2025, she joined the Parkinson Voice Project team, motivated to positively impact the lives of people with Parkinson’s and their families. Outside of her studies and work, Alyssa enjoys running, crocheting, and spending time with her friends and family.
