Joanne Younes was born and raised in Lebanon and spent most of her life in Byblos, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Although she never imagined leaving her home country, her path eventually expanded beyond it in meaningful ways.
During her studies, she spent a semester abroad in France, an experience that strengthened her passion for languages, communication, and cultural exchange. She earned her BA in Modern Languages and Translation in 2021.
Later that year, Joanne came to the United States to visit her family, and that visit eventually turned into a new chapter of her life in Dallas, Texas. She now works as the Global Language & Culture Specialist at Parkinson Voice Project.
Her journey reflects a strong connection to language, people, and place, shaped by both where she comes from and where she continues to grow.
