Laura Langer is a Medical Speech-Language Pathologist with a background in clinical education and program development for people with Parkinson’s. She serves as Chief Clinical & Research Officer at Parkinson Voice Project, where she supports Certified SPEAK OUT! Providers across the United States and internationally. In this role, her team leads the organization’s continuing education initiatives and advances the growth of SPEAK OUT! Therapy & Research Centers as a part of Parkinson Voice Project’s Campaign to Reach America, expanding access to specialized Parkinson’s care worldwide.
Laura brings 25 years of experience spanning healthcare and higher education. She previously served as the Clinical Lead of the New York SPEAK OUT! Therapy & Research Center at the University at Buffalo. Her clinical background includes work in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare settings. As an educator, Laura has taught graduate-level courses in Dysphagia, Medical Speech-Language Pathology, and Clinical Processes/Practicum. She served as Director of Graduate Admissions in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences at the University at Buffalo. With a history of Board Certification in Swallowing & Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S), she worked in the food and beverage industry to support the development of dysphagia products and for continuing education organizations. In addition to a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the State University of New York at Fredonia, she holds a Certificate in Business Management Essentials from Cornell University.
Laura remains an active clinician and is committed to improving the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association and is licensed to practice in New York and Texas.
