Gwen Nolan

MS, CCC-SLP

Gwen Nolan is the Education and Grant Administrator and a Speech-Language Pathologist at Parkinson Voice Project.  She graduated from West Virginia University with a BA in Speech Communications and earned an MS in Communication Science and Disorders from California University of Pennsylvania.

Gwen joined Parkinson Voice Project in June of 2020.  She has been a practicing clinician specializing in the evaluation and treatment of adult neurogenic speech-language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in acute, rehabilitation, outpatient, skilled nursing, long-term care, home health, and university clinical settings for 19 years.  During her tenure as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Missouri she was a two-time SPEAK OUT!® Grant Recipient.  She developed deep admiration for the resilience and spirit of her patients with Parkinson’s, and discovered a passion for helping them regain and retain their speech and voices.

In her role as Education and Grant Administrator, Gwen oversees a robust grant program that aims to train speech-language pathologists and speech-language pathology students worldwide to conduct SPEAK OUT! therapy at their clinics and universities.  She actively seeks to expand Parkinson Voice Project’s grant program so every person with Parkinson’s in the world has access to effective speech and voice treatment by a SPEAK OUT! Provider. She also acts as a clinical resource for SPEAK OUT! Providers, presents educational offerings, and oversees our SPEAK OUT! Therapy SLP and Student courses.

Gwen is a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist. She treats patients and conducts SPEAK OUT! Groups via teletherapy from Parkinson Voice Project’s clinic in Richardson, Texas.  She holds the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA CCCs) and is licensed to treat patients in Florida, Missouri, New York, and Texas.

In her free time, Gwen enjoys exploring Dallas with her husband, traveling, gardening, and cooking.
