Parkinson Voice Project 

Parkinson Voice Project does not have an ’s in its name. We also do not use an article in front of our name. The name Parkinson Voice Project is a trademark, and using the name for another organization or project is a trademark violation. 

About the SPEAK OUT!^® Therapy Program 

The SPEAK OUT! Therapy Program was developed by Parkinson Voice Project to improve speech and swallowing in people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and related neurological disorders. It is a unique and clinically-proven speech therapy program that combines education, individual and group speech therapy, and a regular follow-ups. Once a patient enters the program, they stay in it for the rest of their life. Since Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive, degenerative condition, patients will need speech therapy forever. At Parkinson Voice Project, we tell our patients, “We’re in it with you for the long haul.”

SPEAK OUT! is always spelled as two words, all letters capitalized, and followed by an exclamation mark. SPEAK OUT! is a trademark of Parkinson Voice Project and should be identified as such. 

SPEAK OUT! Therapy Providers 

Parkinson Voice Project is replicating its SPEAK OUT! Therapy Program by licensing speech-language pathologists around the world in its treatment. Speech-language pathologists with a current license are referred to as “Licensed SPEAK OUT! Providers” or as “a speech-language pathologist licensed to provide SPEAK OUT! Therapy.” These providers are not employees or associates of Parkinson Voice Project, but independent professionals, who who completed formal training through Parkinson Voice Project.

Campaign to Reach America 

In December 2021, Parkinson Voice Project launched its $20 million “Campaign to Reach America” to financially secure its headquarters in Richardson, Texas and designate 50 Therapy & Research Centers – one in every state across America. The goal is to eliminate the current barriers preventing people with Parkinson’s from having access to quality speech therapy services. Every Parkinson Voice Project Therapy & Research Center provides SPEAK OUT! Therapy at no cost and specializes in delivering the treatment online. Pay it forward 

Since 2008, Parkinson Voice Project has provided ALL of its speech therapy services using the “Pay It Forward” funding model. The organization does not bill insurance or charge for its speech therapy services. Twice a year, patients, families, and community supporters are encouraged to Pay It Forward – make a donation – to help the next person who needs SPEAK OUT! Therapy.

SPEAK OUT! Therapy Grant Program

Parkinson Voice Project wants to help as many people with Parkinson’s have access to SPEAK OUT! Therapy as quickly as possible. For this reason, in 2018, Parkinson Voice Project launched it’s SPEAK OUT! Therapy Grant Program. Through this grant program, speech-language pathologists and graduate students in universities, hospitals, VA medical centers, rehabilitation clinics, and other speech therapy clinic around the world are provided free or discounted SPEAK OUT! Therapy training and licensing. To date, Parkinson Voice Project has trained more than 5,300 speech-language pathologists and 14,000 graduate students across the U.S. and abroad through their grant program.
