About our names and programs
Parkinson Voice Project
Parkinson Voice Project does not have an ’s. We do not use an article in front of our name. The name Parkinson Voice Project is a trademark and using the name for another organization or project is a trademark violation.
About SPEAK OUT!®
SPEAK OUT! is the name of the speech-language therapy developed by Parkinson Voice Project for people with Parkinson’s Disease and related neurological disorders. SPEAK OUT! Therapy combines interlocking components, including education for both the patient and family, individual speech therapy, a specialized workbook, weekly speech and singing group sessions, daily home practice, and re-evaluations every three-to-six months. People with Parkinson’s who adhere to the SPEAK OUT! protocol have been shown to maintain their treatment results for 12+ years and counting.
The name is always spelled as two words, all letters capitalized, and followed by an exclamation mark. SPEAK OUT! is a trademark of Parkinson Voice Project and should be identified as such.
SPEAK OUT! Therapy Providers
Speech-Language Pathologists around the world are trained in SPEAK OUT! Therapy and are licensed on an annual basis. Speech pathologists with a current license are referred to as “a licensed SPEAK OUT! provider” or as “a Speech-Language Pathologist licensed to provide SPEAK OUT! Therapy.” These providers are not employees or associates of Parkinson Voice Project, but independent professionals, who are licensed by Parkinson Voice Project to provide SPEAK OUT! Therapy. Parkinson Voice Project does not certify providers.
For a list of SPEAK OUT! Providers who hold current licenses, please visit our Find a SPEAK OUT! Provider page.
